There’s no doubt about it, with kids, work, school, extra curricular activities, chores, and whatever else is crowding your schedule making time for your relationship probably falls to the back burner. However, you get what you give and if you are giving your relationship nothing then that’s what you are going to get back!
So here are a few tips for keeping the spark going:
Don’t forget to tell your partner how much you love them – Yes, you’re busy, so taking the time to tell your partner how you feel may seem impossible. On the flip side we live in an era where people have never been so easily connected. There is no excuse! Make a quick call, send an email, text, change your status on whatever social networking site you belong to, just make sure you let your partner know you are thinking about them.
Show a little affection – A little touch here and there goes a long way. Body contact builds intimacy so be sure to let your partner know how you feel about them by well, giving them a feel.
Do the little “niceties” - Know that your partner likes a particular kind of ice cream? Pick it up at the store and surprise them. Maybe they have a favorite show; set the DVR. These little things let your partner know you are thinking about them.
Have a Date Night! - Take a tip from President Obama who recently jetted into New York City for “Date Night” with the First Lady. If you want to have romance in your busy life you have to make it! The President does! And when you think about it, who’s busier than the President?
Turn up the heat in the bedroom - Put the kiddies to bed, better yet send them to the grandparents. Then step outside your normal routine and try something new. Take a trip to the lingerie store and pick out something together. Give your partner a massage with scented oil. Take a bubble bath together under candle light.
Make your intimate time together special. Remember romance doesn’t just happen. It has to be made!
