10 Fly Mommy Fashion DON’TS

Ten fashion donts

1. Don’t leave home looking messy! – Don’t give in to the myth that once a woman becomes a mother her appearance goes down the drain.  If you just recently had a baby we know how hard it is, but you don’t have to dress to the nines.  Just make yourself nice and neat. You want people to know you’ve still got it right?  So. say no to the temptation of leaving the house in your sweats!

2. Don’t go to your child’s school dressed like you are going out for a night on the town – Listen, we know you are a Fly Mommy and we know you are “cool” but let’s face it, you will never be cool to your kids.  Remember your parents?  So, when picking up the kiddies try to keep a low profile.

3. Don’t wear ill-fitting attire – Remember your clothes should always fit you well.  Too big makes you look sloppy.  Too small makes you look raunchy.  Always go for the perfect fit!

4. Don’t wear stilettos when you are pushing a stroller! – Save the stilettos for the times when you are without the munchkins!  It just looks really ridiculous…

5. Don’t wear mom jeans!!! – Those are horrible; if you have a pair burn them asap.

6. Don’t wear leggings as pants, ever. – I know it’s tempting, they are soft and comfy, you are tired but really just don’t do it!  Check out the do’s and don’ts of leggings here.

7. Don’t buy plus size clothes as maternity wear – (See number 3).  Fly Mommies to be, if you are looking for what to wear while you are pregnant check here!

8. Don’t let your undergarments be your outer-garments! – Proper undergarments are the foundation of your outfit. They should never be the main show.

9. Don’t do trendy unless you can do it flawlessly! Fashion is fun but when it comes to being a Fly Mommy, experiment with caution.  There are a lot of crazy trends running around so be careful testing the waters.  Bad trends can look doubly awful when you are a mommy!

10. Don’t be afraid to be yourself! – Yes motherhood changes us all, but if you loved fashion before you became a mother, don’t be afraid to love it still!  Adjust and keep being the Fly Mommy you always have been!
