Kai is a visionary. In early 2009 the idea struck. As a new mother she saw the need for a magazine tailored to fit the needs of the 21st century mom.
She began the process of creating a magazine to engage and empower stylish moms, whether juggling careers, working-from-home, stay-at-home, college educated, still in college, or not, all seeking to meet the demands of motherhood and family while keeping and enhancing their sense of well-being and unique “style.”
She envisioned a magazine that would be topical and informative with mothers in mind, but also engaging in other ways.
The magazine would include cultural, health, political, and social commentary with an added twist, it would provide style-conscious moms with the latest in “fashion trends.”
She knew that stylish moms wanted to be kept up-to-date on high fashion, but also wanted ideas on creative ways to combine fashion with what works if you’re breast feeding, for example, or along with the latest consumer information on infant products, what shoes would not only look good but comfortable and supportive while lifting a baby seat or pushing a stroller.
FLAIMAHMY was born to meet the needs of FLY-MOMMYS!
Prior to founding FLAIMAHMY Kai was a law clerk at Register | Lett, LLP, Atlanta, Georgia. Her responsibilites included working with artist management agreements, trademark registrations, music producer agreements, film script review, and business formation.
Her interests and background in art, architecture and music combined with her own keen sense of style make her very popular as a consultant to models, stylists, musicians, photographers, designers, actors, athletes and event planners.
Kai is a graduate of Harvard University and a third generation graduate of Howard University where she received her Juris Doctor.

Edna Dillard Doggett is an entrepreneur. She has over ten years experience as a professional fundraiser and writing consultant. She served as Appointments Secretary to the late Congresswoman Barbara Jordan of Texas. Edna believes that dedication to one’s community is very important. She is fully engaged as a community and political activist. She serves as a Board Member of The Children’s Equitation Center located in Ashfield. MA. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in planning and administration from Antioch University.
